Cheyenne was born 6/3.2011, a healthy baby. "Around 4 weeks, we noticed her breathing was fast and hard. We took her to the ER to get looked at." said her mother. "We were told things were OK, and we were sent home. We then noticed that she was not holding her head up well and called worried that she had a cold, and around 7 weeks she was admitted to Children's Hospital. It was then we learned her diagnosis, of Type 1 SMA. "
Since her diagnosis, Cheyenne has had a G-tube surgery in Sept. 2011, and in Feb. of 2012 she had surgery to repair a bulge in her diaphragm. As others with SMA, Cheyenne uses a suction machine, bi-pap, cough assist, and feeding pump.
Cornerstone Plumbing, of Waukesha, WI generously donated an I PAD to Cheyenne in June of 2012. This gift from Cornerstone, makes such a difference in her life. She is able to learn, play and explore!!! We are so thankful to Cornerstone for their wonderful gift!!!!!! -Unite 4 Peyton
