Scarlett was a normal pregnancy and delivery. She was a healthy newborn and met all of her milestones, until sitting. At 8 months of age, she was diagnosed with SMA type 2. Scarlett has never crawled or walked, and is considered to be an average type 2. According to her mother, Scarlett is a happy and smart child. She loves to sing and play with princess figures, along with painting and coloring.
Scarlett was in great need of a seat for her to safely support her, while she eats and does activities. Children with SMA have weak muscle tone, so specialized equipment is needed in order to properly support them. The seat that Unite 4 Peyton has granted to Scarlett will assist in her day to day functions, along with her orthopedic needs.
A Message from Scarlett's Mother-
Dear Unite 4 Peyton Board, Thank you so much for granting our daughter her new hi/low chair. We are thrilled for her to finally have functional and safe seating for eating and play. We can't express our gratitude enough for making a difference in Scarlett's life! Fondly, The Sepe Family
